May is well underway!
I know for many this is a busy time of year, and the same is true for me. The Derby, Mother’s Day, the end of the school year, proms, graduations, oh my! Where I live, the yellow pollen that has coated nearly everything has finally washed away, the summer humidity has yet to set in and the peonies are blooming! It’s a marvelous time of year, no? I’m having the best time designing for fall, holiday and winter seasons. I’m working against a tight deadline and I feel like I’m behind. However, I've made great strides in the last few days - this makes me feel better. Thankfully, I have many wonderful people that are helping me to take some of the pressure off. I couldn’t do this without my family, friends and the needlepoint community. I’m so grateful and excited to share with you new designs to market in Dallas in October. But even more exciting, The Advent Collection and The Nutcracker Collection arrive in just a few weeks! I cannot wait to get these canvases into your local shops so you can start stitching!
A few weeks ago, I treated myself to the The Needle Bug’s “Breakaway at The Bug Retreat" and I'm so glad that I did! I met so many lovely stitchers and made some new friends. A highlight was our Saturday class taught by the incomparable Jinny McAulffie from Stitch Style. Y’all, if you ever get a chance to take one of her classes do not hesitate. She’s even more delightful in person. And it’s always a blast being at "The Bug"! The fiber selection is fabulous and the ladies there are just so much fun! If you're ever close to Montgomery you must go. As of late, I haven’t been stitching as much as I would like to and a retreat away was exactly what I needed. I came back inspired and energized! Stitching retreats tend to do this. If you’ve never been to a retreat, treat yourself and go. Take a friend or go by yourself. It’s a wonderful way to meet new stitchers, learn many new things in a short amount of time and they are so much fun!
I’m thrilled to be hitting the road for a few festive events in the coming weeks. Next week I’ll be at Forest Acres Needlepoint in Columbia, SC. Forest Acres Needlepoint is a lovely shop that opened right before COVID. This community needed a needlepoint shop and Kenzie Newton made it happen! If you’re able, please come by and say hello - I would love to meet you! In June, I’ll be at The Needletree in Greenville, SC (more to come on this special event!) and at the Andalusia Country Club in Andalusia, Alabama with the brilliant Jessica Eiland for a special ticketed event. Andalusia friends, if you haven’t reserved your spot we have a few spaces left.
I’m so grateful for this opportunity and look forward with great anticipation to what lies ahead.
I cannot thank you enough for your support and enthusiasm. You are making this so much fun! THANK YOU!
xoxo,
MK
